With the acquisition of 15 shopping centers in Puerto Rico in 2005, Developers Diversified became the largest owner of Class A retail real estate on the island.  The portfolio, which totals five million square feet, includes some of the largest and most successful malls in Puerto Rico.

Even though Puerto Rico is a United States commonwealth, its culture and retail landscape was different enough from the mainland to give Developers Diversified an idea of what to expect when venturing internationally.
